Caregiver Advocacy: How to Question a Healthcare Denial and Find Your Voice, with Tiffany Auvil
Show notes
Caregivers carry huge responsibility with very little power. If you are caring for someone you love and a letter, a code or a closed door has left you feeling small, this conversation is for you.
Tiffany Auvil shares how a clerical error nearly delayed a loved one’s care, and the simple habits that help caregivers organize, ask better questions and advocate calmly.

- A denial is not always final. Ask why, and ask for the details to be rechecked.
- Keep everything in one place: doctors’ names, medications, what each is for, and appointments.
- Know your medications. Errors are common, and caregivers can catch them.
- Bring a notebook and your questions, and stay an active participant in every visit.
- When answers move too fast, say: “I don’t understand. Can you explain why?”
